Hong Kong’s retail sector recorded a strong upswing in February 2026, with sales rising 19.3% year-over-year, according to data updated on 1 April 2026. The latest figure reflects a sharp acceleration from January 2026, when retail sales grew 5.5% compared with the same month a year earlier.
Both the current and previous readings are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s retail sales performance to the corresponding month in the prior year. The jump from 5.5% in January to 19.3% in February indicates a significant strengthening in consumer spending momentum in Hong Kong’s retail market.
