New car sales in Brazil surged 45.5% in March 2026 compared with February, reaching 269,500 units and delivering the strongest March performance since 2013. The BYD Dolphin Mini 2026 became the first electric vehicle to break into the country’s top ten monthly sales ranking, recording 7,053 registrations and surpassing the Hyundai Creta with 6,674. The Fiat Strada topped the overall chart with 16,706 registrations, followed by three hatchbacks: the Volkswagen Polo with 11,051, the Chevrolet Onix with 10,182, and the Fiat Argo with 8,281. Overall, March was the best month of 2026 so far for Brazil’s automotive market.
