Poland’s Trade Deficit Widens in February

Poland’s goods trade deficit widened to €1.02 billion in February 2026, up from €600 million a year earlier, as import growth outstripped that of exports. Imports increased to €29.79 billion from €28.84 billion, driven mainly by higher purchases of capital goods—especially computers and passenger cars, the latter reflecting ongoing growth in deliveries from China—as well as durable consumer goods. The sharpest import decline was recorded in automotive parts. Exports inched up to €28.77 billion from €28.24 billion, supported primarily by intermediate goods, with notable gains in raw silver, refined copper, immunological products, clothing, and computers. The steepest export declines were seen in furniture, delivery vehicles, and road tractors.
