Slovenia Producer Inflation Hits 6-Month Low

Slovenia’s producer prices increased by 0.9% year-on-year in March 2026, slowing from a 1.5% rise in February and marking the weakest growth since September of the previous year. The deceleration was largely driven by lower costs in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning (-3.4% vs +7.8% in February), as well as water supply (-3.9% vs -3.5%). Producer inflation also edged down in manufacturing (1.1% vs 1.2%).

By contrast, prices continued to accelerate in mining and quarrying (10.2% vs 9.6%).

Across the main industrial groupings, costs fell most notably for energy (-2.8% vs +6%) and capital goods (-0.1% vs +0.6%), while they increased for consumer goods (2% vs 1.3%), led by a sharp rise in durable consumer goods (5.1% vs 0.3%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 0.2% in March, following a flat reading in the previous month.
