Slovenia’s unemployment rate edged down to 4.9% in February 2026 from 5.0% in January. The number of unemployed persons fell by 2,336 over the month, to 45,760. The unemployment rate among women was 5.2%, compared with 4.6% for men.
By age group, the jobless rate stood at 7.4% for those aged 15–29, 5.0% for people aged 50 and over, and 6.1% for those 55 and above. The overall unemployment rate was unchanged from February of the previous year, when it also stood at 4.9%.
Employers reported 11,713 job vacancies in February, 4.7% fewer than a year earlier. Over the first two months of 2026, there were 23,665 vacancies in total, a decline of 6.9% compared with the same period a year ago.
