Czech Inflation Eases Slightly in April as Monthly CPI Growth Slows to 0.5%

Consumer price growth in the Czech Republic moderated in April 2026, with the month-over-month Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising by 0.5%, down from a 0.6% increase in March 2026. The latest figures, updated on 06 May 2026, indicate a slight easing in short-term inflationary pressure.

On a month-over-month basis, the April reading shows that prices continued to rise, but at a slower pace than in the previous month. In March, the CPI had climbed 0.6% compared with February, while April’s 0.5% increase reflects a modest cooling in the inflation momentum.

The comparison highlights a marginal deceleration rather than a reversal in trend, suggesting that although inflation remains present in the Czech economy, the pace of price increases may be stabilizing as the second quarter of 2026 begins.
