Within manufacturing, significant contractions were recorded in several branches, including other transport equipment (-28.3% vs +27.2% in March), textiles (-16.0% vs +3.0%), wearing apparel (-14.3% vs +3.7%), leather and related products (-16.2% vs +6.4%), and other non-metallic mineral products (-14.9% vs +7.4%).

On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial production declined by 0.6% in April, after a revised 1.1% drop in March. Over the January–April period, total industrial output was 0.2% lower than in the same period a year earlier.
