Croatia Trade Deficit Narrows in April

Croatia’s trade deficit narrowed slightly to EUR 1.7 billion in April 2026, down from EUR 2.0 billion in the same month a year earlier. Exports surged by 33.1% year-on-year to EUR 2.7 billion, while imports rose 10.2% to EUR 4.4 billion.

Over the first four months of 2026, the trade gap decreased to EUR 6.8 billion from EUR 7.0 billion in the corresponding period of 2025. During this time, exports increased 10.8% to EUR 9.1 billion, supported by stronger sales to both EU markets (up 14.7%) and non-EU destinations (up 3.2%). Meanwhile, imports grew 4.7% to EUR 15.9 billion, reflecting higher purchases from EU partners (up 2.8%) and non-EU countries (up 11.1%).
