Latvia’s current account deficit widened to EUR 84 million in April 2026, up from EUR 63 million in the same month a year earlier. The goods account deficit increased to EUR 357 million from EUR 330 million. Meanwhile, the surplus on secondary income narrowed sharply to EUR 75 million from EUR 124 million. By contrast, the services account surplus rose to EUR 174 million from EUR 162 million, and the primary income account swung to a surplus of EUR 23 million, compared with a deficit of EUR 20 million in April of the previous year.
