Sweden’s PPI Edges Higher in May, Signalling Mild Upswing in Producer Prices

Sweden’s Producer Price Index (PPI) posted a modest acceleration in May 2026, with month-on-month growth ticking up to 1.3%, compared with 1.1% in April 2026. The fresh data, updated on 26 June 2026, indicate a slight strengthening in producer-level price pressures across the Swedish economy.

On a month-over-month basis, the latest reading shows that price growth at the factory gate has picked up pace relative to the previous month. The April figure of 1.1% captured the change from March to April, while the May print of 1.3% reflects the change from April to May, underscoring a continuing upward trajectory in producer prices.

While the increase is incremental, the shift suggests that cost dynamics for Swedish producers are becoming somewhat firmer as the second quarter of 2026 progresses. Investors and policymakers will be monitoring whether this gradual uptick in PPI feeds through to broader inflation measures in the coming months.
