Ireland Harmonized Inflation Softens

Ireland’s EU-harmonised inflation rate eased to 3.3% in June 2026 from 3.5% in May, according to a flash estimate. This marks the lowest rate since February, before the outbreak of war in Iran led to military blockades in the Strait of Hormuz and triggered a global energy shock. Annual energy inflation is estimated at 10%, down from a preliminary 11.9% in May. Household food prices are expected to have risen by 0.7%, slowing from 1.4% in the previous month. Core inflation in the EU-harmonised index stood at 2.6%. On a monthly basis, Ireland’s HICP increased by 0.3%.
