Foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia rose by 5.83% year-on-year to 1.38 million in April 2026, easing from a 7.22% increase in March, as persistent global economic uncertainty and softer travel demand from Europe weighed on growth.
The largest shares of visitors came from Malaysia (25.04%), China (9.38%), Singapore (8.19%), Japan (19.0%), the Middle East (5.67%), Australia (5.0%), the United States (1.68%), and Japan (1.90%). In contrast, arrivals from India and South Korea declined by 6.85% and 9.04%, respectively.
Visitor numbers from Europe fell by 5.91%, driven by notable decreases from the United Kingdom (-5.94%), France (-7.06%), and Germany (-4.17%).
Over the first five months of 2026, foreign tourist arrivals increased by 7.68% year-on-year to 6.07 million, marking the highest level for the January–May period since 2020.
