Germany Factory Growth Revised Up: PMI

The S&P Global Germany Manufacturing PMI was revised up to 50.3 in June 2026 from a preliminary estimate of 50.0, signaling a slight expansion in factory activity compared with 50.1 in May. Output rose modestly, supported by a small increase in demand, and goods producers were somewhat more optimistic about the outlook.

Reports of delivery delays and cost pressures eased from their recent peaks. However, firms continued to experience significant supply chain disruption and a sharp rate of input cost inflation, both largely attributed to the ongoing fallout from the war in the Middle East. "On the whole, it was a slightly more positive set of results for the German manufacturing sector in June than we saw the month before," said Phil Smith, Economics Associate Director at S&P Global Market Intelligence.
