Paraguay Trade Balance Rebounds in June

Paraguay’s trade balance swung to a surplus of $47.09 million in June 2026, after recording a deficit of $160.11 million in the same month a year earlier. Exports increased 25.1% year-on-year to $1.74 billion, supported mainly by higher shipments of soybeans, soybean oil, and beverages, alcoholic liquids, and vinegar. Imports rose 9.2% to $1.70 billion, driven largely by fuels and lubricants, automobiles, SUVs and pickup trucks, as well as electrical equipment. Consequently, Paraguay recorded a trade surplus of $746.6 million in the first half of 2026, compared with a deficit of $373.8 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
