Finnish Inflation Rate Unchanged in June

Finland’s annual inflation rate held steady at 2.1% in June 2026, unchanged from May and remaining at its highest level since March 2024. Price growth accelerated for housing and utilities (1.9% vs 0.6% in May) and for restaurants and accommodation (2.1% vs 1.8%). At the same time, deflation eased in insurance and financial services (-1.6% vs -2.6%) and in personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (-1.8% vs -2.2%).

By contrast, price increases moderated notably for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.7% vs 1.1%), transport (6.2% vs 7.1%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (3.5% vs 4.3%), health (4% vs 6.2%), and information and communication (1.5% vs 4.3%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.2%, offsetting a 0.5% increase in May and marking the first month-on-month drop since January. Meanwhile, harmonized consumer prices—the European Central Bank’s preferred gauge—rose 2.7% year-on-year in June, slightly below the 2.8% increase recorded in May.
