Ecuador Inflation Rises in June

Ecuador’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 1.65% in June 2026, up from 0.92% in May. The strongest price increases were observed in transport (7.8%) and healthcare (3.6%). Prices also rose in education (1.6%), recreation and culture (1.2%), communication (0.7%), and furniture and household articles (1.0%).

By contrast, deflation continued in several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.2%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-0.9%), clothing and footwear (-4.3%), and housing and utilities (-2.7%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.8% in June, following a 0.6% decline in May.
