Argentina Monthly Inflation Eases in June

Argentina’s consumer price index rose 1.9% month-on-month in June 2026, easing from 2.1% in May and in line with market expectations. Seasonal prices increased 3.4%, driven by higher prices for vegetables and tourism services—such as airfares, hotels, and package holidays—partially offset by lower fruit prices. Regulated prices advanced 2.3%, mainly reflecting increases in electricity tariffs and public transportation.

Among the main categories, the largest monthly rise was in recreation and culture, up 4.2% on the back of more expensive package holidays, followed by housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which climbed 3.3%. At the other end of the spectrum, communications (0.9%) and clothing and footwear (0.4%) registered the smallest gains. Core inflation came in at 1.6%, supported by higher prices for bread and cereals, pharmaceuticals, and housing rents. On an annual basis, consumer prices increased 33.5%.
