Oman Annual Inflation Slows in June

Oman’s annual inflation rate slowed to 2.8% in June 2026, its lowest level in four months, from 3.8% in May. The deceleration was largely driven by a deeper decline in housing and utility costs (-0.6% vs. -0.3% in May), alongside softer price growth in several key categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.1% vs. 6.7%), transport (5.5% vs. 9.2%) and recreation and culture (0.3% vs. 0.4%). Inflation remained positive for furnishings (3.1%), restaurants and hotels (4.6%), education (2.2%) and health (1.8%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.6% in June, the first decline in six months, reversing the 0.5% increase recorded in May.
