DAX Holds Steady as Middle East Tensions Keep Markets on Edge

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 traded little changed around 24,840 on Tuesday, as investors stayed cautious amid persistent tensions in the Middle East. Although mediators are reportedly working toward a renewed ceasefire between the US and Iran, US airstrikes have continued for a tenth straight night. Firm oil prices have strengthened expectations that the ECB will implement two additional rate hikes by spring 2027, with the first move now fully priced in for September. At this week’s ECB meeting, policymakers are widely expected to keep rates on hold while they evaluate the impact of June’s increase.

In corporate news, Jungheinrich dropped more than 4% after Germany’s financial regulator BaFin launched an accounting probe into the company’s first-half 2025 financial statements. Zalando declined over 1% after BaFin identified a disclosure error in its 2025 annual report, though no fine was imposed. Redcare Pharmacy gained 3.6% following a note from Warburg Research underscoring the company’s long‑term margin potential.
