Taiwan Export Orders Surge to Record High

Export orders from Taiwan jumped 59.4% year-on-year to a record high of USD 95.3 billion in June 2026, accelerating from a 47.2% increase in May. The surge was again driven by strong global demand for AI-related and other technology products.

Robust growth was seen across most major product categories, especially:

  • Information and communication products: up 81.9% (vs 67.2% in May)
  • Electronic products: up 79.9% (vs 61.2%)
  • Electrical machinery: up 14.0% (vs 7.6%)
  • Basic metals: up 16.5% (vs 9.6%)

Export orders for transport equipment also rebounded strongly, rising 12.3% after a 1.4% decline in May.

By contrast, growth eased for machinery products (17.6% vs 22.5%) and mineral products (30.5% vs 53.1%). Orders for optical, photographic, and cinematographic equipment continued to contract, falling 3.3% after a 1.7% decline in the previous month.

Across major export markets, order growth remained robust, led by the United States (up 83.6%), followed by Mainland China and Hong Kong (up 37.2%) and ASEAN countries (up 52.3%).
