Palestine Trade Gap Widens in May

Palestine’s trade deficit widened to USD 526.4 million in May 2026, up from USD 455.9 million in May 2025. Exports rose 25% year-on-year to USD 193.3 million, largely driven by a 33% increase in shipments to Israel, which accounted for 96% of total exports. By contrast, exports to other countries fell by 45%.

On the import side, total purchases increased 18% from a year earlier to USD 719.7 million. Imports from Israel jumped 42% and made up 65% of total imports, while imports from other countries declined by 10% compared with May 2025.

Over the January–May period, the trade deficit widened to USD 2,573.5 million, from USD 2,322.0 million in the same period of 2025.
