Slovenia Consumer Morale at 5-Year High

Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator rose by 1 point in July 2026, reaching -19 from -20 in June and marking its highest level since July 2021. The uptick was mainly driven by less negative views on current and future major purchases (rising to -20 from -25 and to -28 from -32, respectively), households’ financial situation over the past 12 months (-15 vs -17), and savings prospects for the next 12 months (-13 vs -17). Assessments of the general economic situation over the past year improved slightly as well (-38 vs -39). In contrast, expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months worsened (-25 vs -20), while households’ financial outlook remained stable (-10 vs -10). Inflation expectations for the year ahead were unchanged at 47, and unemployment expectations eased marginally, slipping to 24 from 25.
