Mexico’s Mid-July Core Inflation Eases Slightly to 0.16%

Mexico’s 1st half-month core Consumer Price Index (CPI) posted a modest slowdown in July 2026, signaling a slight easing in underlying inflationary pressures. The core CPI for the first half of July came in at 0.16%, down from 0.19% recorded in the first half of June 2026.

The latest figure, updated on 23 July 2026, indicates that price pressures in items excluding volatile components such as energy and certain food products are cooling at the margin. While the deceleration is small in absolute terms, it may be viewed by markets and policymakers as a tentative sign of stabilizing core inflation dynamics in Mexico heading into the second half of the year.
