China’s foreign direct investment (FDI) contraction moderated in June, with the indicator improving to -5.00% from a previous reading of -8.60%, according to data updated on 23 July 2026.
While FDI inflows remained in negative territory, the smaller decline suggests a slight easing of downward pressure on investment activity. The latest June 2026 figure indicates that, although foreign investors are still reducing their exposure, the pace of withdrawal or slowdown is less severe than previously recorded.
