Speculative positioning in the Nasdaq 100 futures market turned more bullish in the latest reporting period, with net long positions increasing to 2.7K contracts, up from 2.1K previously, according to CFTC data updated on 17 July 2026.
The rise in net speculative longs suggests growing investor confidence toward U.S. technology and growth stocks, as traders modestly expand their exposure to the index. While the absolute level of positioning remains relatively contained, the shift from 2.1K to 2.7K net contracts points to a continued bias toward upside expectations in the Nasdaq 100.
