Turkey Economic Sentiment Improves in July

Turkey's Economic Confidence Index rose to 99.8 in July 2026 from 98.9 in June, marking its highest reading since February and edging closer to the 100 threshold that separates optimism from pessimism. The overall improvement was largely driven by stronger consumer sentiment, with the consumer confidence index increasing 2.2% to 89.8. Additional support came from the services sector, where confidence rose 1.4% to 112.0, and from construction, which gained 0.6% to reach 83.5.

These gains were partially offset by weaker sentiment in other areas: confidence in the manufacturing sector declined 0.8% to 101.2, while the retail trade confidence index fell 1.6% to 111.0. Despite the broad-based uptick, the headline index remained just below the 100 benchmark, indicating that overall economic sentiment still reflected a mildly pessimistic outlook.
