Vietnam Retail Sales Growth Slows in July

Retail sales in Vietnam increased by 14.5% year-on-year in July 2026, easing slightly from the 14.8% expansion recorded in June. Growth slowed across most major categories, particularly in services. Accommodation and food services grew by 19.0%, down from 19.7% in the previous month, while travel and tourism services rose 24.3%, compared with 24.9% in June. Other services also lost momentum, with growth moderating to 14.1% from 17.9%.

By contrast, retail sales of goods remained robust, accounting for 75.5% of total retail activity and expanding by 13.6%, marginally above June’s 13.4% increase. Over the first seven months of 2026, total retail sales were up 13.1% from the same period a year earlier.
