Czech Retail Sales Momentum Cools in June as Growth Slows to 3.6% YoY

Year-on-year retail trade growth in the Czech Republic eased in June 2026, with the working-day adjusted (WDA) indicator slowing to 3.60%, down from 4.70% in May 2026.

The data, updated on 5 August 2026, show that while retail activity continues to expand compared with the same month a year earlier, the pace of growth is losing steam. The current June reading reflects a year-over-year comparison of June 2026 versus June 2025, whereas the previous figure for May was measured against May 2025.

The deceleration suggests that the strong post-pandemic and inflation-adjustment rebound in Czech consumer spending may be moderating, a trend that market participants and policymakers will be watching closely as they assess the durability of domestic demand in the second half of 2026.
