The DAX 40 extended its recent rally on Wednesday, climbing 0.6% to a new record above 26,300, supported by growing optimism over a possible US-Iran agreement. According to Axios, Washington, Tehran, and Oman are reportedly close to a temporary 60-day deal to regulate maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, the earnings season remains in full swing. Fresenius SE & Co jumped more than 5%, leading the index, after the healthcare group reported better-than-expected second-quarter results and raised its full-year earnings guidance. Siemens Energy advanced 2.9% as the company posted a sharp increase in third-quarter revenue and profit, beating analysts’ forecasts.
