Euro Area Producer Prices Fall in June

Producer prices in the Euro Area fell by 0.3% month-over-month in June 2026, the first decline in four months, following a 0.2% increase in May and matching market expectations. Energy costs dropped 1.5%, extending a 1% fall in May, as oil prices retreated after a ceasefire between the US and Iran. Price growth also slowed for intermediate goods (0.3% vs 1.4% in May), capital goods (0.2% vs 0.3%), and durable consumer goods (0.2% vs 0.3%). In addition, prices for non-durable consumer goods were unchanged, after a 0.1% decrease in May.

Among the bloc’s largest economies, producer prices declined in Germany (-0.3%), France (-0.6%), and the Netherlands (-1.0%), were flat in Italy, and edged up by 0.1% in Spain. On an annual basis, Euro Area producer prices rose 4.6%, easing from a 5.9% increase in May.
