Colombia’s annual inflation rate edged down to 6.03% in July 2026 from June’s near two-year high of 6.14%, coming in below market expectations of 6.2%. The slowdown was mainly driven by more moderate price increases in several categories: food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.82% vs 6.83% in June), transport (5.21% vs 5.47%), health (8.37% vs 8.39%), recreation and culture (3.74% vs 3.92%), miscellaneous goods and services (5.97% vs 6.12%), information and communication (4.97% vs 5.16%), and restaurants and hotels (9.53% vs 9.59%). Education inflation was unchanged at 7.57%.

By contrast, inflation picked up for housing and utilities (5.40% vs 5.02%), furniture and household maintenance (6.30% vs 6.22%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.14% vs 7.02%), and clothing and footwear (3.38% vs 2.98%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.17% in July, after a 0.39% rise in June and below market forecasts of 0.35%, marking the smallest monthly gain since November 2025.
