Poland posted a current account deficit of €2,216 million in June 2026, the widest since August 2025 and up sharply from a revised €445 million deficit in June 2025. The shortfall significantly exceeded analysts’ expectations of a €764 million deficit. The goods deficit expanded to €1,469 million from €133 million a year earlier, as imports surged by 16.9% while exports grew at a slower pace of 12.3%. Meanwhile, the primary income deficit widened to €4,444 million from €3,998 million, and secondary income increased to €203 million from €153 million. By contrast, the services surplus inched up to €3,900 million from €3,839 million.
