Belarus Industrial Activity Rebounds

Belarus’ industrial production inched up by 0.1% year-on-year in the first seven months of 2026, improving from a 0.7% decline recorded in the first half of the year and marking a return to positive growth after twelve consecutive months of contraction. The upturn was driven primarily by a 7.9% increase in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning, while mining and quarrying output rose by 2.7%. Water supply, waste management and remediation activities also posted modest growth of 1.8%. However, manufacturing output fell by 1.2%, offsetting gains in other sectors and remaining in contraction for the twelfth straight month.
