US equity futures rose on Tuesday, partially reversing the previous session’s losses amid a rebound in chipmakers and easing Treasury yields. Futures on the S&P 500, Dow, and Nasdaq 100 were up 0.5%. Companies tied to AI infrastructure recovered some of their steep declines from the prior session, as investors continued to wrestle with uncertainty in the sector. Expectations for large IPOs by hyperscalers investing heavily in infrastructure, including Anthropic and OpenAI, were tempered by doubts that near-term AI demand will be strong enough to justify such substantial capital expenditures. Nvidia edged higher ahead of its earnings report tomorrow. Broader sectors also advanced as long-dated Treasuries bounced back from their recent selloff. US Treasury Secretary Bessent threatened sanctions on banks and companies facilitating trade with Iran, yet energy prices still eased after Iran responded to the warnings. GE Vernova and Veritiv each gained more than 2%.
