US Stocks Rise as Tech Rebounds

U.S. equity markets finished higher on Tuesday, led by a rebound in technology shares as lower oil prices helped pull bond yields down. The S&P 500 advanced 0.3%, the Nasdaq climbed 0.6%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 160 points.

AI-focused names, particularly those tied to infrastructure, recovered from the prior session’s losses amid lingering uncertainty over the sector. Anticipation of potentially large IPOs from hyperscalers with heavy AI infrastructure investment—such as Anthropic and OpenAI—underpinned demand for chipmakers and cloud providers.

Nvidia rose 2.2% ahead of its earnings release on Wednesday. Among other major tech names, Microsoft gained 0.9%, Meta added 2%, Micron advanced 2.5%, and AMD jumped 4.9%.

Gains extended beyond technology as long-dated U.S. Treasury yields retreated from recent highs. Softer oil prices—despite fresh U.S. sanction threats against Iran—helped ease concerns over energy-driven inflation and provided some relief to credit-sensitive sectors. Within financials, Morgan Stanley rose 1.3%, while Goldman Sachs added 2.2%.
