Sensex Recovers After Two-Day Fall

India’s BSE Sensex climbed about 0.4% to 77,244 on Friday, rebounding after two consecutive sessions of losses, though investor sentiment remained cautious ahead of a speech by US Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and amid volatility linked to the market’s new closing-auction mechanism. US Treasury yields advanced on Thursday, potentially increasing global borrowing costs and pressuring higher-risk emerging-market assets, while Brent crude traded near $89 a barrel.

On the stock-specific front, Lenskart was in focus as investor Alpha Wave Ventures was expected to sell up to 20.8 million shares via a block deal, according to media reports. Wipro and Google Cloud announced an expansion of their partnership to scale AI adoption across core enterprise operations. SBI Funds Management received a “buy” rating from Jefferies, which cited its strong ties to State Bank of India and its solid presence in fast-growing tier-2 and smaller cities.

Among notable gainers were Ather Energy (up 4.8%), Tejas (up 12.6%), Netweb (up 1.3%), and HSCL (up 1.2%).
