Greek Producer Price Inflation Accelerates to 11.8% in July, Up from 8.8% in June

Greece’s producer price inflation accelerated sharply in July 2026, signaling mounting cost pressures at the factory gate. The Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 11.8% year-over-year in July, up from an 8.8% annual increase recorded in June 2026, according to data updated on 28 August 2026.

The data are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month with the same month a year earlier. The July reading therefore reflects a stronger pace of price growth for Greek producers than in June, indicating that inflationary pressures in the production sector are intensifying rather than easing.

The pickup in producer prices may add to concerns about future consumer inflation, as higher input and output costs for manufacturers and other producers can filter through to retail prices over time. Market participants and policymakers are likely to monitor upcoming PPI releases closely to assess whether July’s acceleration marks the beginning of a more persistent upward trend in Greek production costs.
