Georgia Industrial Output Growth Eases in Q2

Georgia’s industrial production increased by 17.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, easing from a 20.7% expansion in the previous quarter. Manufacturing growth also slowed, to 17.8% from 20.8% in Q1, mainly due to weaker momentum in several key segments: food products (7.3% vs 15.1%), tobacco products (36.5% vs 76.3%), basic metals (11.9% vs 51.1%), electrical equipment (6.6% vs 13.3%), and motor vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers, and other transport equipment (63.6% vs 158.1%).

Growth likewise moderated across other industrial branches, including mining and quarrying (35.9% vs 46.8%), electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (4.6% vs 5.6%), and water supply, sewage, waste management, and remediation activities (12.0% vs 15.5%). On a quarterly basis, however, industrial output rose by 12.8%, rebounding from a 7.6% decline in the preceding period.
