The annual inflation rate in Armenia eased to 4.4% in August 2026 from 4.5% in July, reaching its lowest level since May. At the same time, prices accelerated for housing and utilities (1.4% vs 0.9%), health (3.5% vs 3.3%), miscellaneous goods and services (3.5% vs 3.3%), and restaurants and hotels (5% vs 4.9%). Transport costs also rebounded, rising 2.4% after a 1.2% decline in the previous month. Inflation was unchanged for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5%) and education (8.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.2% in August, reversing a 1.4% drop in July and ending a three-month streak of deflation.
