Euro Zone Factory-Gate Inflation Accelerates to 5.8% in July

Producer prices in the Euro Zone rose at a faster pace in July 2026, underscoring renewed cost pressures at the factory gate. The Producer Price Index (PPI) for the bloc increased 5.8% year-over-year, up from a 4.6% annual gain recorded in June 2026.

The data, updated on 03 September 2026, show that price growth for producers is strengthening when compared with the same month a year earlier, after moderating somewhat in June. On a year-over-year basis, the “previous” figure reflects the change in June 2026 versus June 2025, while the “actual” July reading measures July 2026 against July 2025, indicating an acceleration in underlying producer-level inflation.

The pickup in PPI is likely to draw attention from policymakers and market participants as it can foreshadow future consumer price trends. Rising producer prices may signal mounting cost pressures along the supply chain, which, if passed through to consumers, could complicate efforts to keep broader inflation in check across the Euro Zone.
