Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves increased to USD 601.9 billion in July 2026 from USD 594.27 billion in June. The rise was driven mainly by returns on the investment and utilization of reserve assets, as well as exchange rate movements of major currencies against the US dollar. In addition, central bank operations to maintain stability in the foreign exchange market contributed to the growth in reserves. Meanwhile, foreign investors’ holdings of domestic stocks and bonds at market value, together with their New Taiwan dollar deposits, amounted to USD 1,861 billion, equivalent to roughly 309% of total foreign exchange reserves.
