Sweden’s August CPI Ticks Up to 0.3% YoY, Marking Modest Inflation Acceleration

Sweden’s consumer price inflation edged higher in August 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) reading reaching 0.3%, up from 0.2% in July 2026. The latest data, updated on 07 September 2026, indicate a slight but notable acceleration in price growth compared with the same period a year earlier.

Both the current and previous figures are calculated on a year-over-year basis, meaning August’s 0.3% print reflects the change in prices since August of the prior year, while July’s 0.2% measured the change since July a year earlier. The uptick suggests that inflationary pressures, while still very subdued, are moving marginally higher as the Swedish economy progresses through the second half of 2026.
