Hungary Industrial Output Growth Slows in July

Hungary’s industrial production rose by 4.7% year-on-year in July 2026, easing from a 10.1% increase in June, which had been the strongest expansion since September 2022. Despite the overall gain, output declined in most manufacturing sub-sectors compared with a year earlier. Among the key branches, vehicle manufacturing and the production of computer, electronic and optical products posted increases, while output in electrical equipment and in food, beverage and tobacco manufacturing decreased. On a seasonally and working-day adjusted basis, industrial production grew by 1.7% month-on-month in July, rebounding from a 1.3% decline in the previous month. Over the period from January to July, industrial activity was 2.7% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
