Argentina Manufacturing Output Falls in July

Argentina’s manufacturing output fell 4.9% year-on-year in July 2026, deepening the 2.6% contraction recorded over the first seven months of the year. Twelve of the 16 manufacturing divisions registered annual declines. The sharpest drops were seen in other equipment, appliances and instruments (-31.4%), machinery and equipment (-26.7%), clothing, leather and footwear (-15.9%), textiles (-13.0%), non-metallic mineral products (-12.6%), tobacco products (-12.3%), rubber and plastic products (-9.1%), furniture and other manufacturing (-9.1%), metal products (-8.4%), motor vehicles and auto parts (-5.4%), chemicals (-1.3%), and food and beverages (-0.5%).

By contrast, output increased in petroleum refining (8.1%), wood, paper and printing (7.1%), other transport equipment (2.6%), and basic metals (1.6%). On a seasonally adjusted basis, manufacturing output fell 5.0% month-on-month in July, while the trend-cycle index declined 0.9%.
