Motorbike sales in Indonesia rose 3.18% year-on-year to 596,461 units in August 2026, easing from an 8.3% increase in the previous month. The Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI) expects full-year sales to remain relatively stable at around 6.4 million to 6.7 million units.
In the previous year, motorbike sales grew 1.3% to 6.4 million units, in line with AISI’s target range of 6.4 million to 6.7 million units, although the expansion was slightly weaker than the 1.5% growth recorded in 2024.
On a month-on-month basis, sales declined 6.2% in August, reversing sharply from a 23.0% surge in July.
