Lithuania’s Producer Prices Accelerate in August, Signaling Rising Cost Pressures

Lithuania’s Producer Price Index (PPI) growth picked up in August 2026, underscoring mounting cost pressures in the production sector. The month-over-month indicator rose to 14.80%, up from 13.50% in July 2026, according to data updated on 9 September 2026.

Measured on a month-over-month basis, the August reading reflects a stronger increase in producer prices compared with the previous month, when July’s 13.50% gain was itself a comparison to June. The acceleration suggests that input and production costs are rising at a faster clip, a development that can eventually pass through to consumer prices if sustained.

Market participants and policymakers will be watching upcoming releases closely to determine whether August’s higher PPI marks the start of a more persistent trend in industrial inflation or a short-term spike within an otherwise stabilizing price environment.
