Greece’s industrial output fell by 1.2% year-on-year in July 2026, reversing an upwardly revised 1.2% increase recorded in June. The decline was largely driven by steep drops in electricity supply (-12.4% vs. -3.9% in June) and water supply (-4.0% vs. -2.6%). Mining and quarrying activity also remained in contraction, shrinking by 3.5% (vs. -4.3%).
By contrast, manufacturing continued to expand, though at a slower pace, with output up 1.9% compared with 2.6% in June. Strong gains were registered in computers, electronic and optical products (13.6%), machinery and equipment (7.3%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (6.4%), and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (5.1%). The largest declines within manufacturing were observed in wood and wood products (-7.0%) and in leather and related products (-6.2%).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, overall industrial production fell by 1.7%, deepening from a 0.3% decline in the previous month.
