Greece Construction Growth Slows in Q2

Construction output in Greece rose by 7.1% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, down from a 16.4% increase in the previous quarter. The slowdown was largely driven by civil engineering works, which contracted by 10.7% after growing 6.8% in Q1. By contrast, activity in residential and non-residential building construction expanded by 17.6%, a slight deceleration from 18.9%, while specialised construction activities grew 16.1%, easing from 22.3%. On a quarterly basis, construction output surged 30.6% in Q2, rebounding sharply from a 44.6% drop in the preceding quarter.
