Vietnam Q3 GDP Growth Strongest Since 2022

Vietnam’s economy expanded by 9.95% year-on-year in Q3 2026, accelerating from a revised 8.81% in Q2 and marking the fastest pace since Q3 2022. All major sectors recorded robust growth. Industry and construction jumped 12.50%, contributing 51.57% of total value added. Services increased 9.54%, accounting for 43.29%, while agriculture grew 4.21%, representing 5.14%.

On the expenditure side, final consumption rose 8.96%, and fixed investment surged 21.39%. In external trade, exports of goods and services increased 23.27%, while imports advanced 28.75%. Over the first three quarters of 2026, GDP expanded by 9.01%.

Vietnam is aiming for full-year economic growth of more than 10%, underpinned by higher infrastructure spending. In comparison, the economy grew 8.02% in 2025. On September 23, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) raised its 2026 GDP growth forecast for Vietnam to 7.8% from 7.2%, while cautioning that heightened global uncertainty could weigh on exports, investment, and the exchange rate.
