Ukraine Inflation Climbs to 11-Month High

Ukraine’s annual inflation rate climbed to 10% in September 2026, its highest level since October 2025, up from 8.1% in August. Transport prices rose sharply, with inflation in the sector accelerating to 26.9% from 23.8% the previous month. Housing and utilities inflation also picked up, reaching 6.3% compared with 5.6% in August, while food inflation jumped to 8.9% from 6%. Price growth for furnishings strengthened as well, increasing to 7.3% from 5.7%.

By contrast, inflation in restaurants and hotels eased slightly to 13.2% from 13.7%. Deflation in clothing and footwear softened, with prices in this category falling 4.7%, compared with a 4.9% decline previously. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 2.1% in September, the largest increase since June 2024, after edging up just 0.1% in August.
